Evidence Based Treatments

At Resilient Response Counseling, we try to use the best evidence based treatment for the client’s “presenting problem.” In short, I want you to feel better & I want to use the most effective tools to help you get there. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and am additionally trained in the below therapies:

Treatments & Conditions
Dialectical Behavior Therapy: Self-harm, suicidality, BPD, severe depression, & emotion dysregulation

Cognitive Processing Therapy: PTSD, trauma

Behavioral Activation: Depression

Informed Treatments

I also commonly use strategies from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (as well as general mindfulness techniques), to help with (in addition to the conditions listed above) anxiety and issues around eating.

…How does it all work?

Consultation - Start by setting up a free 20-30 minute consultation. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, how I may be able to help, and there will be time for you to ask any questions you may have.

First Session - If we agree that we are a good fit, we will schedule an intake session. The purpose of this session is to establish some rapport, learn what you would like to change in your life, what has and has not been working for you, and to discuss the process of therapy.

Ongoing Meetings - Usually I meet with clients on a weekly basis, however frequency is dependent on the client’s needs. In our weekly sessions we will check in about formal or informal homework (if applicable), set an agenda for the session, have an interactive exchange during our session, and end with a summary and possible recommendations for practice between sessions.
